JOURNALISM
Journalism gave students the opportunity to execute on a large-scale, long-term production from start to finish. Beginning with mere blank pages, students brainstormed and revised theme ideas, carried the theme through well designed pages, sharply interviewed and reported on the year, and saw their hard work come to fruition with tangible, award-winning books for the community. In addition to the yearbook, students captured events and occasions through the Raider Flash Instagram and explored their creativity through the Raider Flash Magazine.

Theme Development
Teams conceptualized themes that visually and verbally captured the year. They presented theme copy, cover designs, color palettes, fonts and a title to a council.

The Raider Yearbook Production
After the theme came together, teams were assigned spreads on two-week deadlines and proceeded to write, interview, photograph and design to completion.

The Raider Flash Magazine
Teams worked in the industry-standard program Adobe InDesign to create pages and spreads that captured their imagination and interests. The magazine excited the student body in the lead-up to yearbook distribution.

Students documented events in real time through topical photography and interviewing. With subjects from all grades, journalists interacted to get opinions and stories.

Awards
As work on the yearbook progressed, the Florida Scholastic Press Association awarded the staff's photography, writing and design for upholding the highest standards of journalism.
