Book publishing is a 25 billion dollar industry.  With every new title printed, a cover needs to be designed and executed by a graphic designer.  Our students were given the opportunity to create book cover for children's books.  Students were given the freedom to come up with a title and cover art from their imagination.  Which one would you read?

Digital Art has seen a rise in interest in recent years.  No longer used just to market products, they now sought after as beautiful works of art on its own.  They often grace many contemporary decor gallery walls.

Travel posters first appeared in the late 1800's.  It was a common way for travel companies and agencies to reach their customers.  Still popular, they are now used more for their beautiful art and wall appeal.  Beautifully framed, they not only add an artistic touch, but also remind the owner of far off exotic destinations.

Last year 9 out of 10 households purchased greeting cards, proving this 8 billion dollar industry is still profitable.  Greeting cards designs must not only appeal to an ever changing society, but also cultural taste.  Greeting cards follow trends just as much as fashion and home decor, so a designer must keep current while also knowing his customer's needs.

Wall calendars not only offer functionality, but also the added bonus of beautiful art.  Today, calendars are used as a marketing tool by companies, but also by artists and photographers who use them for exposure.
