BROADCASTING 1

Broadcasting 1 is a course designed to impart the foundational principles of television production and broadcast journalism. Throughout the duration of the course, students engage in practical, hands-on learning experiences, crafting individualized productions under guided instruction. Emphasis is placed on mastering the operation of studio equipment, capturing precise footage, proficient editing techniques, and methodically assembling narratives. Each project undertaken serves as a platform for honing specific skill sets relevant to the field of broadcasting.

BROADCASTING 2

Broadcasting 2 is a production-oriented course where students take on the creation of The Daily Show, an announcement-driven showcase that informs and engages the school community. Through hands-on learning, students deepen their understanding of core production values such as framing, pacing, audio quality, and visual storytelling. Emphasis is placed on developing proper storytelling techniques—structuring narratives, conducting effective interviews, and crafting compelling scripts. By working as a team in a real-world broadcast environment, students amplify their voices and contribute meaningful content that reflects their unique perspectives.

RSN TEAM

RSN Team is an advanced, application-based course where students produce Beyond the G, a monthly magazine-style show that takes the student body beyond the classroom walls and into the broader community. This course emphasizes professional production standards, compelling story structure, and meaningful storytelling. Students compete at both the state and national levels, sharpening their skills while amplifying their voice and unique perspective. Through hands-on projects, students grow as visual storytellers and community-minded journalists.
